Founded in 1981, every June the best of the best in the fashion world is honored to hi-light the contributions made to the dynamic industry. The looks were to die for! One of the best looks from the CFDA Awards was from model Sara Sampaio. She graced the carpet in this electric blue gown.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Awards were in partnership with Swarovski for the 16th year and held at the Manhattan Center's Hammerstein Ballroom. The unified Swarovski Award was designed for Emerging Talent with women's wear, men's wear and accessory designs. In addition, The CFDA added the Swarovski Award for Positive Change which honors individuals who've made positive impacts on American communities.

Now let's congratulate these ground breaking winners!

Raf Simons for Calvin Klein won both the women's wear and men's wear designer of the year award.

Kenneth Cole was honored with Swarovski Award for Positive Change.

Stuart Vevers for COACH won the award for Accessory Designer of the Year!

Pat McGrath won the Founders award and she posed with Karen Nelson and Amber Valletta.

And of course we can't leave out Janelle Monae! She won Fashion Icon of the Year.
