Congrats on the premiere of Season 2 of Five Points . Tell us more about your character and what makes the show and your character unique.
My character, Wallace, is sort of the nerd of the group. He is really smart and calculating and whenever he puts his mind to something, he is determined to see it through. The whole show is super complex and has different perspectives which allows the audience to see the story in eye-opening ways.
How has your experience working with Kerry Washington been and what have you learned from her that you can apply to your independent production work?
Working with Kerry has been a dream! I have found that when you are around her she exudes so much intelligence and creativity, that whomever is around her is instantly charmed. One thing I have learned from her is to always be prepared which always helps on personal endeavors.
Facebook Watch and Netflix are both streaming services you've worked with for projects like American Vandal, Alexa & Katie, and now Five Points. Why do you think it's important that film work is now a dominant force on streaming services as opposed to traditional platforms?
I think that it is important that film work is now streaming because I find it provides people a variety of platforms on which to tell stories and engage in important discussions. Content has just been growing and growing.
We hear that style and fashion is an interest of yours, being a collector of shoes. What types of shoes do you collect and how many pairs could you say you own?
I collect any shoe that I think is cool or iconic. I find that shoes make or break a person’s outfit. When it comes to my collection, I have a plethora of shoes that match my clothes. I would say I have about 30 pairs of shoes all for different lifestyles.
How would you describe your everyday style?
I only have 2 different styles. One revolves around raw denim with cool vintage looking shirts and chucks. The second style is street-wear style that revolves around cool sneakers and comfortable pants and shirts.
We also hear you enjoy cooking. If you were a celebrity contestant on a cooking show, what would be your go-to dish to win the judges over and what would be on your music playlist to help you through?
My go-to dish would definitely be my chicken Parmesan. It is actually to die for! The song to go with making that would be some Frank Sinatra…Makes me feel more Italian than I already am.
"Lip" is a short film you produced and star in, can you tell us more about the film and the creation process? When can fans expect a release date?
I directed, produced, and starred in LIP. Being behind the camera is one of my new passions. I love to just find myself at home writing and reading. I also found film making had me learning new skills about the business such as budgeting, casting, and pre and post production. Fans can expect a release date soon. We have already been submitting to festivals and showing close family friends.
You've been quite busy over the past 3 years but is there any other endeavors you'd love to add to your plate? Any specific talent you look forward to working with?
I would love to add more independent films to my endeavors. I would additionally like to direct and act in more of my own films. I would also like to see myself acting in feature films soon working with inspiring directors that I look up to.
